Sheep Blog – December 2024

I saw these guys on the path yesterday- we were doing the Broadway Half Marathon and this was part of the Cotswold Way. The race director had warned us at the safety briefing that there were 2 rogue sheep who had got out of the field but the farmer was very relaxed about it and as long as they were safe it was apparently ok so maybe it was a regular occurrence. I don’t know what they would have made of the 300 or so runners that trotted past but they seemed completely uninterested in my efforts.

This is Twiglet our youngest. He is 2. If I jog down to the hay feeder he thinks we are playing and there is no other word for it, he boings along. He bounces on all 4 legs. It’s a bizarre way to run but it’s pure play.

We had quite the audience today. These are the class of 2024. All most curious as to what we were up to in the next field.

Brrrr. It snowed last night which caught everyone a little off guard. We will fluff up the pig arcs with straw at the weekend so they have somewhere under cover to go if they want.

Busy day so it was dark by the time we got to the sheep. The Guinea fowl were safely roosting in their tree. The sheep are used to the head torch (mostly). Bramble isn’t very keen but she is a bit of a scaredy cat at the best of times.
