Good to see the moorhen chicks today. I think they have 3 – the third appeared from the sheep field … much smaller and I’m not sure what it’s doing in there. I didn’t know moorhen chicks were so feisty but the chick chased off the jackdaw from the food.

Pecky and Twiglet have clearly been smashing heads. Twiglet is becoming quite a pain during feeding and everyone runs away from him. We are having to give him his own little pile of food to distract him. Some of the older sheep just can’t cope with a headbutt in the ribs.

June 20, 2025
Super Alice has finished shearing the main flock and is now doing ours! Chubby looking well … chubby.
Skinny Minnie did not want her tummy doing so we will do that with the hand shears while she is distracted with food.
Daft – pleased to be a bit cooler. She was looking a little sunburned yesterday.
Baby Lamb – he was such a tiny little thing as a lamb – we didn’t think he’d survive and he was half the size of 52 and Champion.
Here Chubby is scratching his head on a thistle.
